Spotify’s holiday singles collection brings together a unique mix of artists, each putting their spin on a holiday track. Joining Kesha are Dasha, Max Richter, Mark Ambor, and Miel San Marcos:
- Kesha – "Holiday Road"
- Dasha – "Driving Home for Christmas"
- Max Richter – "River"
- Mark Ambor – "Run Rudolph Run"
- Miel San Marcos – "Emmanuel"
Kesha Leads the Spotify Holiday Singles Collection
Kesha’s cover of “Holiday Road” brings new life to this upbeat ’80s song, originally not a holiday tune. In the words of Talia Kraines, Spotify’s senior editor of pop, “Kesha sounds amazing singing it. Her vocals remind me of The Go-Gos and The Bangles.”
This holiday season is significant for Kesha, as she continues to reclaim her joy and artistic voice. Known for hit tracks like “Tik Tok” and “Timber,” which have become seasonal anthems, Kesha’s festive contribution is bound to resonate with fans both new and old.
Other Featured Artists Bringing Holiday Cheer
Also featured in the collection is Dasha’s cover of “Driving Home for Christmas.” A holiday classic in the UK and Europe, Spotify is excited to introduce this track to a broader U.S. audience. “We saw this as an opportunity to give this beloved song a new audience in America,” Kraines added.
Meanwhile, Max Richter, Mark Ambor, and Miel San Marcos round out the collection, each adding their unique touch to holiday music with renditions of “River,” “Run Rudolph Run,” and “Emmanuel.”
Spotify’s History of Holiday Singles Collections
This year’s collection follows the tradition of Spotify’s annual holiday singles, which previously featured artists like Laufey and Kirk Franklin. Last year’s highlights included Laufey’s cover of “Winter Wonderland,” which reached No. 2 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart, and Kirk Franklin’s soulful gospel rendition of “Joy to the World.”
Spotify’s holiday playlist also boasts contributions from some of the biggest names in music, such as Miley Cyrus, Sam Smith, and John Legend, ensuring listeners have a variety of festive tunes to choose from every year.
